YESSSSSS!!! ANDY JUST WON against Enqvist. That was a close one!! Oh man, I wish I could've been there. I'd be a cheering maniac.. I wonder if Lilian went..
So today went by pretty quick. Though, I really can't wait until that week off in 2 weeks. HEART! My dad left for Los Angeles this morning. He's with his friends and I think he's gonna stop by to see my sister. Cooool beans :)
Went home after school and as I was climbing into bed to take a nap, I heard the phone ring. I had this feeling it was Media Play asking me to work, so I didn't get up to answer. Then I felt bad so I asked my mom if she picked it up and she said it was for me. It was Fran thank goodness.. asking me if I wanted to go to the mall to get Julie's birthday present. Whewww.
We went and got the presents and had an interesting adventure. Hahaha.. We couldn't choose between two things at Old Navy, so we ended up asking some guy who worked there. ah haa.. Then we went to Sweet Things to satiate Fran's sugar fix. It was funny, I picked all the orange things and she picked all the apple things. Ah haa... good stuff <3
I lost all my songs.. AGAIN. *cry*
Oh right, so I have to totally rant. Excuse me if you will... Today, in journalism, during our daily "does-anyone-have-any-news-stories" session, Fran showed us the student produced magazine or whatever, called Session. Alright, so you know, if I had flipped through the pages, without reading the first page, I would've been totally fine with it. It wasn't my type of read, but it was a nice idea to put out a magazine (though it was actually printer paper, but that's irrelevant). But after reading the first page, a lot of us got pretty heated. Apparently, the magazine is suppose to compete with The Union (our school newspaper). And apparently, our paper is boring and is of bad quality, and no one reads it cause it's useless.
Oh man, honestly, if they had just not had that page, it would have been okay. I really didn't think it was right. To put out your own magazine is an awesome idea, that I wish I could pull off, but for the purpose of being the Union's rival isn't. Our staff puts a hell of a lot of effort into each paper and we work on making layouts, writing, placing, interviewing, and discussing for DAYS AND HOURS. We find the stories even though the adminstration doesn't want us to. We deal with a lot of criticism because we write what some people don't want others to know about. The point of our newspaper is to share with the school what they should know. If someone finds it boring, too bad, it's interesting to someone else SOMEWHERE. To compete with our long hours of hard ass work shouldn't be a motivation. Writing and passion should be your motivation. Well, if people want to hear about cliques and Wall Climbing for Dumbasses, sorry the Union doesn't deliver. We try our best to write about news, cause you know, we're the school newspaper.
Sorry if I offended someone. I'm just really upset about this. I love journalism and I could tell you that our class is passionate about writing, and to be insulted like that doesn't really brush off easily.
ANYWAYS. Sorry, I just really needed to rant.
This weekend, I HAVE to study for SATs. Or.. they will bite me in the butt come March. Oh dear..
The precious Valentines Day is coming up. I wish I had enough daffodils in my backyard to pick and bring to people on Monday. That'd be so freaking cute. That reminds me.. paper hearts making this weekend! <3 I'm going to try to stay home this weekend, with the exception of work and Julie's Bday party.
Chinese New Year celebrations were these past few days. Good stuff... 3 family parties in 3 days. I wasn't able to go to 2 of them cause I was at the SAP Open, but we had one at my house yesterday. It was a nice family dinner.. Not too many people. I had my little cousins over. They're cute. But annoying at the same time. One of them felt compelled to talk to the people I was talking to online. Silly kids.. My how they've grown!

It was pay day today. <3 Any check bigger than $100 is beautiful. My, was it beautiful today. ah haa...
The Union comes out on Monday. Yay!!! Lenny, I love you. :X
