settle down, sleepy

I really miss Sydney, and my cousins there. I was just looking at my picture from the Bridge Climb on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I remember it really well, actually.

My sister and I had been enjoying ourselves so much. We had just gotten back from the icky hot Outback in Alice Springs and we couldn't wait to have more fun in Sydney. The city was so wonderful.. We took the train there, just the two of us and shopped around near QVB (Queen Victoria Building) until we met our cousin. Everything had been so fun. And then my cousins made sure we had August 15th free, because they had a surprise for us. Being the Monk I am, I tried to think of everything we could possibly do. Everything that we hadn't done but wished we could. Then I remembered.. climbing the Bridge. One day, I woke up and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and all that, and there was a note on the mirror. "I'm going to climb." From my cousin Jenny, to her brother Henry, of course. I was right. I told my sister and she couldn't believe it.

The day came and we were in the car. They told us to dress warm. Henry asked us if we knew what we were going to do that day. My sister and I knew, but pretended that we didn't. After he told us, I told them how I had already known. They were disappointed that they hadn't gotten to surprise us, but we were all in good spirits anyways. Jenny had a slight fear of heights, so it was her day too.

We got dropped off and for an hour, we had some prep time: safety precautions, getting into suits, practicing on simulations, the works. Then we climbed a nice flight of stairs and got to the top. I remember, you couldn't climb up or down until the person before or after you was off of it. During the climb, we saw a rain cloud come and pass us and I thought it was the most wonderful thing ever. You could see everything. The city , the opera house, and Taronga and Manly in the distance. It was sooo wonderful.

After that, our sore legs needed a rest. Henry and Terry picked us up and we discussed where we were going to go for dinner. Korean BBQ was the apparent winner cause we were sick of Chinese food and western food. We went to Hanabi where we had an awesome time cooking our own food.

It's been a year since Australia. I love the place so much. I can't wait to visit it again.

Anyways.. today I'm probably going to sit on my butt and read Harry Potter all day. Not studying for Physics which I really should be doing. Maybe I'll go jog or something later. Whatever. I just need to get out and move instead of sitting here rotting.
